What are acoustical ceiling systems?

These are ceilings with a big upgrade. They’re designed to control sound within a room by absorbing noise instead of reflecting it. What does this do? It reduces echo, reverb, and sound transfer between spaces. Generally, they’re made of a metal grid that holds lightweight (but effective) panels of mineral fiber, fiberglass, or perforated metal (all effective sound-dampening materials).
